Job Summary: This position will oversee the resources for commercial healthcare construction projects. The person in this position will be accomplished in both the technical skills required for the job and in leading and directing a team. In both instances, they are guiding them to success while ensuring the project is completed on budget and within scope.

Salary: Industry Standard Compensation based upon qualifications

Essential Functions and Accountabilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Communicate site plan to outside vendors/foreman; evaluate and readjust as necessary to ensure project stays on track.
  • Perform risk management; identify and respond to potential issues throughout the life of the project, minimizing potential negative impacts and ensuring employee safety.
  • Coordinate activities; prepare work schedules to deter conflicts.
  • Coordinate outside vendors/foremen ; manage subcontractors, providing assistance when necessary.
  • Ensure project is constructed according to plans, specs, codes, permits, submittals, RFI’s, addendums, ASI’s, modifications and change orders.
  • Regularly inspect work for quality and specifics to project plan.
  • Monitor expenses to ensure budgets are met; provide input when adjustments are necessary, maintain material and labor costs.
  • Track inventory of supplies, materials and equipment rentals; guard against loss, ensure materials are ordered and delivered to meet project schedule.
  • Build a demonstrated understanding of Waldrop products and services.
  • Adopt and assure the consistent use of repeatable processes to assure operational efficiencies.
  • Other accountabilities as required.

Supervisory Responsibilities: This position coordinates site foremen who in turn, supervise site laborers.

Experience, Education, and Licensure:

Degree in construction project management or equivalent experience; in-depth understanding of construction procedures and material and project management principles; familiarity with infection control, QA, health and safety standards; familiarity with industry project management software and MS Office; outstanding communication and negotiation skills, excellent organizational and time-management skills, a team player with leadership abilities. Industry certifications such as ASHE CHC, OSHA 30, etc. preferred but not required. Must have a minimum of 10 years-experience in construction with at least 5 of those years as a Superintendent on healthcare project similar in size and complexity.
